My entire company basically let everyone who wanted to gtfo out of the big city office do so a few years ago and I think most of the regional ppl have pretty much moved to 100% wfh. I ended up moving back to my home town and have met a lot of ppl, neighbors, etc who are in similar situations.
companies don't have pensions any more and a lot don't have chances for advancement, so WFH is becoming their only real way to retain ppl. it's way more effective though if the person isn't still tethered to the NYC area and can get another job easily. |
