As a group it would appear that they have earned that reputation as the most skilled in the world.
I remember many years ago during the early stages of the US Navy's TOPGUN school at Naval Air Station Miramar, a detachment of IAF pilots came to visit. They flew some training missions against the elite school's superb instructors, some of the best fighter pilots in the world at the time. Afterword the instructors were all in awe at how skilled and aggressive the IAF pilots were, and they learned a number of valuable lessons from them.
For years thereafter, they talked about how incredibly good those IAF pilots were. They have my vote. |
