In MFH, dogs are a public nussiance on par with the homeless population. Most outsiders don't know this, but in MFH the sidewalks are caked with smeared dog shit and standing puddles of dog piss. People will walk their dogs in the hours right before or after work, and as a normal rush hour commuter you have to constantly play limbo will all their fucking six foot leashes. Luckily most decent restaurants don't allow dogs on the premises, period, for obvious reasons. And don't even get me started on the ethical issues with housing a dog in a concrete jungle (not only the space, but noise and vibrations) . Owners who boast about taking their dog to a 40-yard square park a few times a week are no better than prisoner wardens justifying a 23/1 solitary confinement assignment.
As the above posters have noted, dog ownership here mostly comes down to selfishness and immaturity, with the obvious political factions behind each side. I personally despise all resident dog owners as both foolish and cruel people. |

If they live on them then the suburbs have nothing over them for a dog. And I say this as someone who lives near a bunch of nice parks in a suburb. Even though I live in London, I'm right next to a huge wilderness area so my dog gets to hike in the woods twice a day - https://i.imgur.com/V16XW4k.jpg
As for the shit smearing...that's just bad people man. Folks in London are much better at cleaning up after their dogs. In France, they power wash the streets multiple times a week so the dog shit gets cleaned up. |

For the most part I can keep my pup off lead in the pub. Usually there’s at least one other dog so when we go grab a pint my dog gets to hang out with his bros too. My local deli owner brings his huge dog in everyday so when we get meats, my dog gets to get a good sniff in too.
