I think it really depends. If you’re reading Tom Clancy novels, obviously consumption in the same way watching Stranger things is consumption. But if you’re pressing yourself to regularly read extremely well written, thought out novels or non fiction, that’s definitely something I would call a hobby. I think there is a middle ground, like “Room” for fiction, or a Hilary Clinton bio for non-fiction, where it’s debatable whether it’s just entertainment or something greater.
