Probably. Like I said, I never go to the doctor. If I had dependents then it wouldn't be viable, but for me it is fine. I can even use the HSA as a liquid account on certain things that vaguely qualify as health-related without a tax penalty.

$60 biweekly for health (I think around $1500/year), another $4 biweekly each for dental and vision. I think annual deductible is around $1500, $3000 annual OOP maximum, and lots of preventive stuff is covered 100% without deductible. In-house at a F500 non-finance company, no family.

Also, while health insurance is hard to quantify, vision insurance is the best deal out there if you wear glasses/contacts. The insurance premium is a little over $100/year and includes, at a minimum, either $150 for contacts or $200 for frames and a $10 co-pay for lenses, plus the usual annual exams.

Your employer is subsidizing 2/3 of your vision insurance premium and the $100 is just your share, right? Because vision "insurance" is the a massive ripoff that almost never, even under ideal circumstances, makes financial sense for a family and never makes financial sense for an individual. Let's see what VSP, the nation's largest vision "insurer" has to offer

VSP offers four levels of individual plan, the cheapest of which costs a total of $189.28/year for a lens benefit worth a maximum of $120. The next cheapest costs a total of $444.16 biannually for an exam and lens benefit worth no more than $270 ($120 exam, $150 lenses). The priciest plan costs $411.16 per year, the benefits of which are worth an absolute maximum of $350. Strangely, as absurd as it is, the priciest plan makes the most financial sense. Lol. Oh, and the above is best case and applies only to contacts wearers, not glassesmos who can get 180 high quality lenses and frames with high end options like transitions lenses, AR coatings, etc. for as low as $20 at zennioptical.com or 39dollarlenses.com

That vision insurance that covers only routine, predictable expenses even exists makes no sense to me, but I'm absolutely floored by the fact that it not only exists, but that coverage is widespread.

I assume they're covering most of it, yes. I agree that it makes no sense to pay full price, but hey, if they're going to let me pay $100/year for $250+ in benefits (in addition to the frames allowance, they'll also cover like 20% of anything above that threshold), then I'm all for it. Also, glasses are one of those things that I really have trouble buying online because I'm picky about how they look on me; I tried it once and wasn't happy. Being able to go to a store is worth a lot to me.
