Totally agree. People here keep bitching that it "isn't useful" but it is much more useful than a normal watch and I use it all the time.

BTW, my one piece of advice is to change the watch band to a nice leather band. Makes the watch truly 180.

bought this in june. overall meh

my main complaints:

1) it takes a couple of attempts for it to turn back on when i turn my wrist to look at the watch

2) samsung pay is SPS. no i dont want to enter my pin every 10 mins

3) bixby is unusable garbage

this watch has singlehandedly convinced me to switch to iOS the next time i get a phone (2020/2021 when iphones get 5G). my friends apple watch is so much better. i am the biggest apple hater out there and have never bought a single apple product in my life. not even ipod

Not really. Seems like nitpicking. It does everything I want it to do. I can't actually say that for Apple products. They just flat out make it hard to do what you want.

use "always on" feature. Doesnt take up too much battery. I'm at 75% after a full day.

Also, you only have to enter your pin once.

On the battery thing, the worst I've used in a day was about 25%. It's not like you need the thing overnight, just put it on the wireless charger before bed. I sometimes am up late or get up at odd hours, and am checking my phone, but you never need the watch unless you're out.

I've used 33% before when I used it to track workouts/runs and it used a bunch of GPS and took some calls.

But I instinctually put it on the charger at night because it has to go somewhere.

It's sort of like the MFH subway card, where you're fine once you learn what sort of motion it's looking for. I've gotten good at the specific motion I need to get it back to full power when I get an alert.

Always on is fine for the main watchface, I think he might be asking about the way to get it to actually show you the content of a particular alert you have.

I have one. Got it about a year ago. Immediately switched out the stock band for a metal link band, and put on one of the nicer watchface skins. I swear I once was once asked, by a clerk at a high-end mall, whether it was a Tag.

The alerts are nice and being able to see who's messaging me without having to pull out my phone is helpful. The steps tracking is great too, better this than a FitBit. I wouldn't pay a huge premium for it, but I think it was like $250.

The only thing I don't like is when it gets uppity. Like, yes, I probably should move around, but I'm still stuck in a meeting.

Also it is really great when driving. Someone is texting you and I can either fuck with the BMW panel or just look at my watch. The watch lets me keep my hands on the steering wheel and is obviously better/safer.

Any thoughts on other Android compatible smartwatches like Fossil?

Those use Android Wear. The issue is there's no standardization. Some have GPSs, some don't. If it doesn't have GPS tracking for steps/exercise will suck, among other things. Some have good batteries and some don't. I had Android Wear before and while there's more apps available a bunch of stuff just didn't work because my exact watch model didn't support something. Ended up switching to Samsung because it was easier to live with on a daily basis.
