Gravel is $15-35 a ton. Stealing it is beyond stupid. If you have shoveled gravel you know it is much easier just to get a delivery.

lmfao where are you getting gravel that cheaply? I just paid about 50k for 10 tons of it, although a lot of transportation was involved.

You need to control for quality. Not all gravel is the same and you pay a premium for the better stuff.

Don’t mean to be disagreeable here but you’re not right. I’ve paid that much (obviously) and more for crushed stone. You’re paying for certain tuned properties at higher price points, specific types of chemical dampening. You can get crazy if you really push the rock mix and quality.

lol you want me to scan my invoice? This isn’t stuff you just grab off the shelf from Home Depot. You have to go through industrial channels. arcelormittal moves a lot of this stuff, working with defense and research lab contractors; there’s in turn a grey market for it if you can find the right supplier in your local area. The guy I tend to do my orders with was formerly in mcmurdo and he developed his contacts that way

It’s not a game I’m trying to genuinely tell you you can get into very expensive stone applications. In this particular instance we needed to seal a below ground structure with highly sensitive electronics equipment from both electromagnetic interference and a nearby watershed that is known to have radioactive material in the stream. So it required a custom batching process to generate the right rock mixture and then we had to transport it quickly and at night. I don’t disagree with you that your ordinary off the shelf gravel will be cheap, but I’m telling you it can get more complicated. Having someone local who you trust and can connect you in those instances can be a godsend. And that was by the way with a volume discount!

You don't need a shovel just pick up a handful here and here over the year while you're waiting to go to work or walking your dog or whatever. By the end of yebyera you've probably solved your garden gravel needs.
