Previous studies had attempted to answer why marriage rates are on the decline, but most focused solely on gender ratio discrepancies as opposed to looking into the specific socioeconomic characteristics that make a particular man and woman a good match.

First, the study’s authors examined data collected on recent marriages between 2007-2012 and 2013-2017, gathered as part of the American Community Survey’s cumulative 5-year marriage statistics. That data was used to estimate the financial and sociodemographic characteristics of unmarried women’s potential husbands by creating economic profiles that resembled real husbands who had married comparable women. These potential husband estimates were then compared to actual population data on unmarried men across national, state, and local locations.

Researchers found that these estimated potential “dream” husbands had an average income about 58% higher than the actual unmarried men currently available to unmarried women. These synthetic husbands were also 30% more likely to be employed than real single men and 19% more likely to have a college degree.

It was also observed that many racial and ethnic minorities, specifically African American women, seem to be dealing with especially low numbers of economically attractive potential mates. Additionally, women on both the low end and high end of the socioeconomic spectrum face a harder time finding an economically compatible mate.

“Most American women hope to marry but current shortages of marriageable men–men with a stable job and a good income–make this increasingly difficult, especially in the current gig economy of unstable low-paying service jobs,” explains lead author Dr. Daniel T. Lichter of Cornell University, in a media release. “Marriage is still based on love, but it also is fundamentally an economic transaction. Many young men today have little to bring to the marriage bargain, especially as young women’s educational levels on average now exceed their male suitors."

Men don't want to marry these old, self-absorbed, vapid thots. This article's contention is that women cannot find marriagable men. That simply isn't true.

Marriage to a woman conveys no benefit whatsoever to men. 80% of divorces are initiated by women and 90% of alimony payments are from men to women. Marriage is inviting the state, the courts, and the police into your relationship - and that is exactly what women want. Marriage used to be a contract between a man and a woman. In return for the man's labor and providing a home, the woman would keep the home, have children, and provide sexual satisfaction. That was the deal, and it was enforced by the family, the courts, social pressure, and religious pressure.

Now it is the exact opposite. Divorce is encouraged in media, the courts, and society. Women can cash out any time they want, and financially ruin the man. Feminism has made the deal even worse. Women today behave like men. They have dozens of previous sexual partners and only look to marry after they spend their best years working and having casual sex. They want that marriage contract locked in before their appearance detonates from age and years of partying.

What man wants to marry some used up, old, semi-sterile career woman who lacks all semblance of traditional femininity? This article is garbage, just like modern women.

This plays out in two ways as I see it: First, as a Faustian bargain that Boomers made with the left/PC culture which is obviously anti-White and anti-male and also partly Boomers trying to create pseudo-harems of women due to latent (or sometimes not so latent) sexual desire. Also, so important to Boomer bosses, there is the fact that young women are both easy to control, have less ambition to climb to the top and are less likely to question their Boomer overlords. Why take the risk of being unseated by a younger ambitious man when you have women all too willing to serve?

I am sure that there have been studies of dominant males attempting to neutralize younger males in group/pack dynamics. Previously this was not a big deal because there were very few if any women in a work environment who were direct competitive threats (i.e relegated to the typist, the secretary, etc...) and work was more fraternal and companies actually took care of their people (or at least more than they did today).

Another thing that I have realized is that since most young millennial women working today come from broken or unstable homes (Great Recession environment as well as a 50%+ divorce rate in the United States) many of these women are so stridently careerist because the working office environment is the most stable thing that they know and they can derive self worth and importance from - it certainly was not their home life, with abysmal Boomer parenting.

The flipside is that this Boomer behavior is causing immense corporate waste and is weakening the firms they have infested significantly, opening up opportunities to take business. If you are a man under 40 I think you are crazy if you are not actively attempting to find a way to earn a living in an independent manner, have a portable trade/skill, passive income or opening your own business or your own firm.
