human thought patterns are inherently cyclical and since thought>action on every scale, you will always see repetition anywhere you look. ignoring this is the key to opening the third eye and moving forward

How is it that ignoring something is the precondition for attaining addition perceptive faculties

an early step to 'awakening' is to break out of 'internal' thought patterns. 'looking out' from your mind does no good if your perception mirrors your preconceptions. however, once you have broken out from your own pattern, you can begin to see the true patterns in nature/others/time (intuition vs perception)

Most people have no way of disentangling the two and go through life using them interchangeably - which is fine until they get unbalanced as they are in most people. So an excess of active perception (cognition-led interpretation of reality) leads to atrophied 'passive' intuition (interpretation-led cognition) when perception should ideally be passive and intuition active.

He who lives to see two or three generations is like a man who sits some time in the conjurer’s booth at a fair, and witnesses the performance twice or thrice in succession. The tricks were meant to be seen only once; and when they are no longer a novelty and cease to deceive, their effect is gone.
