take something as mundane as a debt offering. the biglaw firm is like the least influential player in the deal and more of a support function. even something like a big 4, while doing merely tax or deal advisory work, has more influence. on top of that biglaw firms are small organizations and have very little influence to place their constituents anywhere. plus they work much harder than anyone other than junior bankers for their money
