https://www.bloomberg.com/amp/news/articles/2019-10-18/china-economic-growth-unexpectedly-slows-to-6-in-third-quarter

China’s economic growth slowed in the third quarter amid weak demand at home and as the trade war with the U.S. drags on exports.

Gross domestic product rose 6% in the July-September period from a year ago, the slowest pace since the early 1990s and weaker than the consensus forecast of 6.1%. Factory output rose 5.8% in September, retail sales expanded 7.8%, while investment gained 5.4% in the first nine months of the year.

Policy makers are allowing the world’s second-largest economy to drift lower as they seek to clean up the financial system and curb excessive credit growth. With a drop off in exports to the U.S. expected to continue as the trade war hits, the economy is likely to continue struggling as deflationary pressures hit company profits.

I mean 4.something reported. That would mean their true growth would be more in line with the USA which would fuck the notice that they still have decades more of high growth before leveling off. That would put a lot more pressure on their financial system. I'm waiting for dat banking crisis.

Entire banking system full of loans to state owned enterprises who built ghost towns and railroads to nowhere and will never be able to pay back the debt.

They'll keep trying to fake it until they make it but absent that Belt and Road thing actually happening to open up markets, they fuct
