I voted against it. I don't think it's unreasonable to have tabs based on the value of the car, rather than a flat fee for all. I'm not adamant about it either way.

The problem is that opponents are using the roads and bridges argument as cover for their mismanagement and waste that led to the initiative.

In this case it was foisted on the state by representatives reversing a 20 year old initiative, and now will be approved or rejected by referendum.

It's I-1000 and Ref-88.

Ref-88 would confirm the legislature's adoption of I-1000, so lib's like Ref 88.

Right now a slim majority has rejected Ref 88, but there are still votes to count.

Edit: looks like "reject" is still in the lead after the last King County dump.

It's confusing. I-88 puts 1000 on the ballot for the people to decide. And yes pretty fucked up for the leg to come along and over turn a direct vote of the people.

Edit: duh not 'I' 88

King County shitlibs could still ruin this.

Seattle Times says it's 49.4 to 50.6 now (https://projects.seattletimes.com/2019/election-results/#KeyRaces) but Secretary of State website says closer to 51/49 (https://results.vote.wa.gov/results/20191105/State-Measures-Referendum-Measure-No-88.html)

Apparently there's no way to find out what percentage of the vote is in.

Edit: actually, there are an estimated 182,000 ballots left to count in King County (https://results.vote.wa.gov/results/20191105/Turnout.html). Since King is the only county with lots of ballots left to count where Ref 88 was passing, and there are still a lot of ballots to count in Pierce and Snohomish (where Ref 88 was not passing), I'm less worried about a late shitlib surge.
