You have these towns along the Kentucky border with hardly any people living in them. Many of them look like they've hardly changed since Ulysses S. Grant lived there.

Then you have Columbus, which is surprisingly large (the city itself has a larger population than Cleveland).

Then there are all these shit towns that don't even have a Starbucks at the highway exit. I visited Ashtabula once and it looked like one of those post-apocalyptic looking cities you see in Russia.

Toledo looks like a mini Detroit. Just pure shit. If you're driving to Toledo, you may as well just skip it and drive the extra hour to Detroit - at least they have a 180 art museum.

Then you have Cleveland, which has a very similar flavor to proletowns in Pennsylvania and New York. Doesn't feel midwestern at all.

There are all these bizarre little town/cities everywhere in the middle of the state with surprising levels of business activity. Like I guarantee you've never heard of Findlay, OH, but Cooper Tires is headquartered there. Then there's Yellow Springs, home of Antioch College and Dave Chappelle. There's a big hippie artist commune thing going on there. People come from all over to buy arts and crafts. There's also a kooky nature reserve with some neat stone formations, good for an afternoon hike and nice enough you could go there almost daily and not get bored.

Dayton seemed incredibly boring but Robert Pollard loves it. It's also the closest metro area to yellow springs.

There's a stretch of towns around Cincy that are conservative as fuck. Like Boehner's old district. It's shitcon heaven up there. The cops are fucking nazis in that area too. They literally have a German thing going on.

Overall Ohioans are 180. They tend to be fat but otherwise they are chill, friendly and warm. The white people there are not stupid goobers. They are as plugged into the modern world as they want to be. They are also overwhelmingly based (see e.g. Dave Chappelle). If we ever have a civil war. The side with Ohio on it will win, because Ohio whites are old school, have plenty of guns and enjoy using them. It's no coincidence that BOTH Grant and Sherman were from Ohio.

Lots of 180 hidden nature too. Some gorgeous state parks, good fishing. It's probably my favorite state in America and I wouldn't hesitate to move to one of the MANY rural areas where housing is DIRT CHEAP, TAXES are LOW. And you will get high fives if you walk around "town" screening "fuck libs!"
