Iran has the resources and personnel to be a shiite hegemon in the ME. They control Lebanon through Hezbollah, they now control large portions of Syria, they were exporting the Hezbollah model to Iraq. They are in Yemen. Of course they noticeably fail to mention that this occurred over a decade ago during the Iraq occupation and that Shiites/Iranians were in no way the cause of the majority of American deaths in Iraq. They fail to mention that until recently, and over the past five years, those same Shiite militias have fought alongside us in Iraq against ISIS.

First, I didn’t realize that the “terrorist” designation was supposedly due to events that occurred 10-19 years ago (putting the real reason aside for the moment).

More importantly, 99.99% of people associate the word “terrorist” with someone who murders innocent civilians. Not an army general who devises plans to attack what he considers to be an occupying invading force.
