When do you think restrictions will be lifted? How bad is the economic fallout going to be?

I think the majority of restrictions will be lifted before June. People won't put up with this much longer. There is already significant fatigue from most people.

Economic fallout won't be terrible IMO. A lot of commerce is done online and that has only increased. Yes a lot of people have lost jobs (and that decreases purchasing power) but those jobs will come back almost immediately since people still need to work at restaurants, movie theaters, etc. Also, since a lot of people aren't paying rent and are deferring bills, they are going to blow their $1,200 shopping on Amazon. So a lot of that will go right back into the economy. People who are freaking out are missing great buying opportunities in the market.

I would expect the DOW to be over 25K by the end of the year and a full recovery within 24 months.

This isn't legal advice.

ppls behavior will change until we have a vaccine. not saying it will go down to zero but you can expect at least 30% reduction in consumer spending on entertainment/dining/leisure which is the difference between economic growth and recession

and considering our half assed quarantine i also predict us going back to some kind of semi-quarantine back in july

enjoy

You could be right. But even if you were, by 2023/24 the DOW will likely be 50% higher than it is now. Would be dumb not to at least buy somewhat into this.

Lotta ppl are saying something like 5000 dow by late 2022/early 2023. Complete economic collapse on the horizon. The virus was just the pin and now the whole house of cards will come crashing down.

If the DOW hit 5000 I would sell everything I own to buy in. I would sell my house and rent an apartment so I could put all the cash into the market.

Lol my house would never be that cheap. Even in the worst part of 2008-10 my house would have been worth like 950k. Real estate wont crash as hard as 2008.

Explain how 1200 will go back into the economy and not directly into Jeff Bezos’/Amazon shareholders’ pockets if ppl blow it on Amazon?

serious question, how would ppl buying shit on amazon go right back into the economy? Wouldn't that go straight into the pockets of bezos and GINA?

EDIT: Lol apparently the poster above me had the exact same question.

Does Bezo's produce all the goods and ship everything personally? Obviously not. It will keep people in jobs at Amazon, all the companies that produce goods for Amazon, etc. Lots of people and companies make money when you buy from Amazon. Obviously Amazon makes a ton, but they aren't the only recipient of the money. Lots of companies and jobs outside of Amazon are dependent on them.

Amazon also famously doesn’t really turn huge profits and tends to reinvest surplus to a far greater degree than other companies bc they have hypnotized Wall Street and the investing public (and doing so allows them to avoid taxes).
