Roll the dice with your own young family's health and bring a nanny in or send your kids into the daycare germ cesspool. Do not risk the life of your inlaws who do not live with you. i make six figures, but i'm in a high COL area. And we've used up a lot of leave time and spent a lot of money dealing with his condition.

Let older one have more screen time. Younger one needs constant supervision but that’s what switching off is for. You can also work before kids wake up (ours wake up around 6:30 and I wake up at 5 (more so due to trouble sleeping ), and then work after bed time (after 7:30/8) if needed. I know lots of people who work til 12-1am. Figure it out btwn the 2 of you and leave your parents out of it.
My kids have been home for 3 weeks but we go out bike riding and my 18 month old touches the ground, grass, and parking signs and everything and can’t control what she does. They miss grandma but FaceTime for 2-3 months and alive grandma is better than possibly dead grandma. We have amazon packages and grocery deliveries/occasional store trips. Kids touch the mail etc. not worth exposing your parents.
Nobody said this stuff is easy, but two white collar workers who have luxury to WFH don’t deserve sympathy during this time when so many parents and other families have much greater problems. And you’re also posting on xoxo so that’s time you could be spent working. |
