My father's side is Goy German stock. Nary a Jew in his entire lineage which we examined back to the 1700s. You're Russian, which even while goy, many Russians have higher Jewish admixture through history, so you likely identify as a 'goy' and have disavowed your "Jewish" lineage, but are undeniably a Jew as well. I just happen to Out-Jew and Out-Goy you. |

Yes, many Russians are mixed (and by the way, not just with Jews but with Balts, Poles, Turks, Central Asians, E. Asians, Scandinavians, etc.), especially from certain regions. It reminds me of when I lived in Moscow and walked in to meet my new officemate, whose first words to me were "I'm a Jew, are you a Jew too?????" And when I responded with "nope" he looked like I backhanded him, so I had to revise it to "well, part" and he just beamed like I made his day. The dude had to be the most quintessentially Slavic looking bro I've ever seen in my life who also was mixed except that he just adopted Jewish culture to the max and would constantly scheme to try to find bargains and asked everyone how much they paid for everything and shit. Of course this meant he was a shitlib (for a Russian). Nevertheless, his wife wasn't having it and made him get baptized in the Russian Orthodox Church and their daughter was being raised without any of that. This is typical, especially these days. Being part Jewish is considered trendy and cool, like being part Native American in the US. Actually being Jewish is basically totally unacceptable anywhere in E. Europe.
tl;dr - it's complicated. But I give you credit for at least coming up with an answer. |

You're not really right. Russians are mixed with lots of groups including Jews but are nevertheless hardcore Russian Orthodox and are overall incredibly anti-Semitic. Just like Palestinians are probably the closest from a lineage perspective to ancient Israelites but only crazies would consider them actual Jews. |
