Colts dad was pretty legendary for being a helicopter parent and would criticize the offense and playcalling earlier in Colt’s career bc he was a high school coach. TBF he was generally right and was a way better Xs and Os coach than Greg Davis or Mack. The longhorns were only good when their qb was either a much better offensive mind than their coaches (Colt and to a lesser extent Major) or a much better athlete than anyone else on the field such that it didn’t really matter what play they called (Vince). He looked better than Colt or Vince would have at that age if they were thrown into the national championship as a true freshman. They had the ball down 3 with six minutes left in the 4th quarter. If we played the same game next year he would’ve finished it and scored the winning TD on that drive. He’s probably going to win that Heisman that Vince and Colt both deserved!
