This is never explained (ie he did so under duress or to secure passage of the crew). It simply is graphically shown including him swallowing and then it’s the next scene. not entirely bad.
I wouldn't recommend it, but if you watch it, there are worthwhile points. particularly the commentary on how capitalism sucks all of the life out of once sublime concepts, turns them into farces, and then eventually sells them off as if they were spare parts.
Discovery Season One >>>>>>>>>>>> Picard > Discovery Season 2 in terms of quality.
In theory, we were supposed to view refugees as Good, but virtually all of the plot implies they are Bad, so if you ignore the text and just focus on the subtext, Picard was redpilled. |
