The latest version has what's called a "rapid injector" which means you'll have a full glass of soda (hot or cold) or sparkling water (same) within 10 seconds of the first button press. The typical flow-out is 16 oz. but you can program it to provide more so I don't see the big deal with filling a pitcher or two. co2 exchanges are $15. you can do them at most bed bath and beyonds with a standard 20% coupon, making them $12.
the initial investment (the machine, and a few bottles and co2 cartridges) will pay itself off. each 1L bottle of sodastream will cost like 20 cents. you can't get close to that price for seltzer elsewhere.
you also avoid the hassle of having to order and store a bunch of soda cans/bottles if you're a big seltzer drinker. on the other hand, you have to remember to get new cylinders |
