would you want this even if no one else alive derives this benefit? all your relatives die, kids die, friends die?

what if there's a nuclear holocaust and you're the only one left alive?

You might. There's a lot of possibility & uncertainty about the trajectory of the next fifty years as far as medical and technological advances. Strap yourself in for the ride and hold hope.

if there isn't an environmental or political apocalypse in the next 50 years i'll consider that a win.

We are nowhere near that. We finally understand a lot more, but the understanding is that there is so much more that goes into aging than we ever thought, and that it's incredibly difficult to preserve it or reverse it -- and that's in lab mice, much less humans.

Did I say we're near that? No. I said there's a lot of latent possibility and it will be interesting to see how the next five decades unfold. Anyone predicting confidently that we'll have infinite life extension by the late-21st century is an idiot. But at the same time, anyone predicting confidently that we won't is a misanthropic cynic. Let's see what happens.

It would be pretty 180 to have lived since the beginning of man. As like a 20 year old. From way back in the Pleistocene up through today. You could be rich and chadly as fuck.
