they’ve already increased comp and started fast tracking analysts to associate in two years instead of three. if you’re actually interested in finance and investing (still extremely lucrative), an analyst stint at evercore would make sense even if they barely paid you at all. you’d just learn, take the many hf/pe interviews you’re offered and leave in <12 months

Bankers are BTFO, literally every single job is Engineering now. Bankgineers > "bankers." Also working like 100 hours a week supposedly is lol.

They could add like 20 million H1Bs and you'd still be better off majoring in Engineering than liberal arts. Liberal arts makes you dumber/worse somehow. Engineering > Scumbag bootstrapping > Loser liberal arts. Prep/NEET is better than all of the above obviously, but a prole majoring in liberal arts at Brown does not a Prep make imho.

Is this true? I havent thought about banking since i tried and failed to get in to bulge bracket after undergrad in the late 00s

But I've always wondered why they didnt hire programmers, seems like a lot of the work is ticky tack excel monkeying, would be better to use python

I don't think these jobs exist at this point in any appreciable number or else we'd have Elite Posters bragging ITT and exeunt wouldn't be hanging a shingle. I think they basically all got ITEpwn3d.

But yeah once it became millenials' turn, higher-ups were probably like, "this is all fraud, let's just hire Nerds and cancel OCI"

Just BSing/surmising. Why wouldn't we have more Elite Boutique poasters? Wherever there is an income worth bragging about, there is a poster to poast it, so where are these guys?

125 + 30-100 bonus.

[Deputy GC in an IBD]

Almost all are under 200K. This is the not flame answer if anyone was actually curious.

It kind of sucks, as people were making 180 in 2008.

My wife's first job out of college was BB analyst in 2004. $55k base, $10k signing, $60k bonus. It was a rough job.

2nd year analyst was something like $65k base, $100k bonus.
