I know some guy who skipped grades and boasted about how young he was for what he was doing (startup CEO/founder with VC backing). dude ended up working for 10 years on his BS startup that went into bankruptcy and got bought for scraps/some of its technology. so what did "saving time" do for him exactly, just convinced him to bet 10 years on some foolish idea that didn't pay off |

But a lot of academically strong kids are already pretty fucked in these areas and better to skip then to spend a year fighting with the teacher because he is bored.
