edit: on another note, i understand those services were crazy expensive and zoom etc is a lot cheaper while actually offering a lot more services. reminds me of nyc cabs getting cucked by uber. |

I've had so many client calls where the partner tells me in advance he wants me to lead and he will just listen in and provide a comment or two. then when the call starts the partner gives the greeting and then proceeds to run the entire call and i never say anything.
i'm a slacker so i appreciate it but i can imagine strivers being miffed. |

Superstar senior associate (now on management committee) and I travelled to Boston for in-person final negotiations and closing. We had a big conference room at seller’s counsel’s firm with accordion files all over the huge table. Senior associate told me to check them all to make sure they contained the latest versions and they did not. He tells me to throw them at the garbage can and let some hit the floor around it to make a show and replace them with the right ones. I do as I am told. Senior associate from other side comes in, asks what’s going on, and is steaming - thought he was going to hit the senior on my side.
