It definitely wasn’t a plane though. I was camping near Furnace Creek. I saw it around midnight. It was on the other side of the eastern mountain range in Nevada, which is where Area 51 is.
First saw it at really high altitude. It would go up then come down low and go back up. Move forward and backward some, nothing super fast though. Always stayed in the same area. It looked orange colored. It went on for a long time.
Immediately thought of how bob lazar described the tests out there. They don’t fly it all over the place because they can’t risk crashing. They just make simple maneuvers. |

We had only brought the basic life support bag into the building with us. When we got on scene, we saw grandpa sitting in his love seat with a steak knife in his chest. I asked my partner to run down to the ambulance to grab the monitor, drug box, the stretcher, and to call the helicopter. I made contact with grandpa, and it was the most chilling experience of my life: He looked me dead in the eyes with a cold stare and said "Just pull it out, son. I'm ready to go." we kicked off. their returner advanced the ball all the way to midfield. i'm playing run support safety and i recognize their first offensive play from our simulations of their offense - it's a pin-and-pull sweep run to my side off the ass of the tight end. lo and behold, it's their all-star. he's headed right for me and i know it even before the QB pivots to the pitch
i'm beyond excited. i have diagnosed the play and their all-star is going to be completely helpless, as i'll arrive the instant the first molecule of the ball touches his hands. i dip my head because i'm going, i decide, to knock him out in front of everybody and get tons of pussy. i'm running at him in a full sprint and it's a free shot - i didn't even get chipped by a lunge from the tackle or end. he's barely running at a jogging pace because he's focusing on getting the ball into his hands, so i aim up helmet-to-helmet and launch (it was 2002)...
i can only describe the experience as a mystical one. this guy was so unfathomably powerful that he knocked out two teeth (i think they clicked together after my mouthpiece flew out) and literally ran over me for a touchdown. he was so strong that he completely cooked my momentum and accelerated through me. i had him at a dead sprint without even a moment of hesitation, but he was just THAT MUCH better than i was that my superior timing and momentum made no difference.
it was very sobering to realize that the difference between an average athlete and an exceptional athlete could be that stark; it's the single most surprising thing i've ever experienced, and the confrontation with greatness was one of the most humbling experiences of my life. |

I was the tailback and every single carry, all year long, I was able to power through and at least fall forward. Before the stater championship game, the big newspaper did a write-up and had every player’s picture and a detailed analysis of both teams, a full two page spread. My team was a bunch of smiling white guys, and the other team looked terrifying and all black. Anyway, my team was undefeated and we played the only other undefeated team in the state. Very first carry, I ran a 22 dive or some bullshit, and at full speed I ran into what felt like a brick wall and I bounced backwards about 5 feet. At that point, I knew we were going to get our asses kicked. I think I carried 12 times for a total of 6 yards. Every other carry was a lot like the first. We were destroyed by like 30 points. It was devastating. No notable players, but the guy who led the state in rushing yards and TD’s ended up playing in the NFL for 11 years. |

I was at the NCAA (either Sweet 16 or Elite 8) tournament in 1998 where Richard Hamilton made the last second game winning shot against University of Washington. The first game that night was the Tar Heels which was who everyone was there to see because it was in Greensboro, NC. After the Tar Heels game, the crowd emptied out so my friends and I moved from our nose bleed seats to right about where the camera is in this video clip to see UConn v. U of W.

We were both, "Holy shit! We just saw a UFO!" and went running inside the house to tell all our friends and they were all, "STFU, you were tripping."
But I swear on my black wife and my mixed kid the acid hadn't even begun to kick in, it was definitely a UFO. |
