CR. MY EP 1 REVIEW:
the writing seemed very lazy and unclever. it was random larry shit that they didn't follow up with and do a clever job of making more of good material. e.g., larry fighting with siri -- funny, but it's just random. could have done more and carried the theme through. e.g., the waiter with the dead mother -- they just abruptly ended that skit and didn't follow through with more interaction that could have been very funny.
the beaner actress character is terrible cringe and not the least but funny and adds nothing to the show. she's worse than the non-leon black family. leon's aunt or whatever is terrible cringe. why are they going back to leon's shitty family that they already wrote off? they just aren't funny.
and the political shit at the end. wtf was the point of the ending? was it something that in-person voting is dumb and we should all do fraud mail-in voting? i dont even get the stupid intended shitlib message

Hi-definition. The show was better when it looked shitty and had black bars.
Just compare this scene from Season 6 with a clip from Sunday's premiere.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fxbow2ENHF4
Notice how in the first clip the scene is paced well, the conversation is given room to breath, and the camera doesn't cut between each line that a character says. It allows the comedic tension to build and shows a faith in the writing.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-vCUecRSeHU
Now watch this clip and notice how all that shit is gone. Quick cuts, not nearly as funny or awkward. They're trying to move on to the next scene as quickly as possible. This is how all the scenes from last week's episode was.

It’s no better or worse than a typical episode of the past few seasons of Curb. Was never quite as good after it came back after being gone for so long. This is what the show is now with Larry in his mid-70s. I bet we’ll get a gem or two throughout the season but mostly middling eps like the premier.
Better ending would’ve been for the Larry to get arrested for leaving that fat dog in the hot car and killing it.
Seeing how old Jeff, Susan and Leon are is a bit sad. Somehow Larry talks/acts exactly the same.

It was OK. I think i'm going to have to re-watch season 11 bc i really don't remember the character dynamics with Maria Sofia and Irma.
Larry seemed over the top angry and yelling the whole episode. hard to tell if he's forcing it or feels so comfortable that he can just say whatever he wants now.
I thought the "Brookie" bit was clever. I've always felt very uncomfortable calling people by a nickname or knowing when it's appropriate.
IRMA bombastically singing the JG Wentworth jingle and lambasting larry for drinking too much almond milk was funny.

i thought he was dating her because he needed a town variance for a fence or something.
some kind of stale bits too like siri not understanding what you say and butt dialing people.
i liked larry calling auntie rae's goy appetizer plate "completely inedible".

didnt he need a variance for a fence for some kind of liability bc he killed the mexican girl's relatives? and if hes hiring her anyway and not getting blackmailed, why does he need to worry about the lawsuit? idgi
lol, the aunt's goy appetizer plate is some white people shit. do blacks have shit like that?

again, this is lazy writing.

producer admits the siri scene was random garbage:
By the way, that Siri scene — we had written all the episodes. We were a few months into shooting, and Larry had a little donnybrook with Siri when he was trying to go to some restaurant, and we were laughing about it and said we should do it as a scene. We had already shot a bunch of stuff and were trying to figure out where to put this scene, but it was so funny we thought, what a great “welcome back to Curb” scene. So we moved it into episode one. It was a great way to tell everybody, “Hey, we’re back.” It’s a classic Curb scene because Larry likes to shoot the show the way he lives his life, which is that the world is against him. So Larry got into the car, and he knew that he was going to try to go to Wolf’s Glen restaurant. And then I’m Siri, talking at him through a walkie. And, let’s just frustrate the fuck out of him.

producer refers to trump as orange asshole & orange menace in THR interview:
We were in post, but then post got delayed by the strikes. And in fact, the mugshot at the end of the premiere was never in the show when we wrote it and when we shot it. But as we were sitting around with the strike and we couldn’t do anything, the Orange Menace got arrested in Atlanta and I told Larry, “You got arrested in Atlanta. That crazy Orange Asshole got arrested in Atlanta. We should do the mugshot.” So then we had to wait until the strike was over to even do the photo and put it in the show. I know it seems like that was always the master plan and that we were building toward that, but it’s really just a byproduct of waiting around and it fell in our laps.

MY EP 2 REVIEW:
it's clear that this whole season is going to be ttt filled with shit political garbage. this georgia law bullshit is going to overwhelm the entire season. a bunch of msnbc hacks like scarborough and mika slutwhateverzinski are their guest stars now? give me a fucking break.
and more ragging on trumpmos with MAGA hats? they already did an ep about that last season. been there, done that. move on.
the ONLY funny parts of this whole episode were the suzie scenes. she's clearly the only thing good about the show now, and she still totally has it. (and she was showing tons of cleavage with her enormous tits...unnnghhh.) larry is sps now since he's not even trying. anything with suzie is hilarious, and reminds me of classic old-days curb. the double-gift returning plotline was brilliant. the black-jockey plotline was only hilarious as to suzie being a cunt bitch about it, but wasn't funny otherwise. the rest of the plot was entirely garbage.
leon's aunt is just a horribly boring character and they wrote off leon's family for a reason... and now they have nothing better to write about so they bring back leon's cringe aunt? is this terrible character gonna be in every episode this season?
one of the few things good about this ep is we didn't have to deal with that obese beaner actress.
the regular characters have been totally MIA this season -- suzie, ted danson, richard lewis. very sad!

cr all around. i liked the 2 gift thing also the finger evolving to be a shoe horn was funny. i'm annoyed that the whole season is going to be this tongue in cheek political shit assuming that of course everyone agrees with his anti trump leanings. i think i literally groaned when he called the lawn jockey Giuliani. Not much payoff for a 2 episode setup on that joke.
the lawyer reminding him of mocha joe i think badly overestimated the extent to which the audience gives a single fuck about mocha joe.
Just give us back our old friends. Bring back lewis, ted and mary, cheryl etc. Do a CGI Funkhouser.
It's also kind of insane that despite the total flop of the seinfeld finale, Larry has elected to go with a criminal trial against him for the last season of curb.

i didn't even get the giuliani reference. this season has a bunch of inside-baseball political shit from 3 yrs ago that nobody remembers. nobody remembers wtf rudy has to do with the lawn jockey. and nobody remembers that there was even some georgia election law about giving water to people and there was some faux outrage about it.
at least south park cranks out episodes within a few days of whatever forgettable current event political bullshit of the week they're satirizing.
re the mocha joke lawyer, i'm thinking this plotline isn't done and there might be something later with mocha joe. i agree that thing is overestimated as is, but there might be something more coming, so i'll reserve judgmnet on that.
it's like larry is attempting to make up for the seinfeld finale and redo it better the 2nd time around. the reality is he's doubling down on a sps decision the first time around.

Fair review, although Larry has always been liberal on the show.
I really enjoyed Larry talking about “fancy” foods to the other prisoner and the guy having no clue what Larry was talking about. Felt like a real conversation.
The garden prop storyline was a bust. Double gift story line was good. I enjoyed Susie and she’s the best but it felt forced a bit idk.

MY EP 3 REVIEW:
Much better than the horrible first two episodes with all the Atlanta political garbage and that horrible beaner girl, and seemed like more of a classic curb episode with the usual regular cast. The episode wasn’t particularly memorable or brilliantly written or amazingly funny but it had its good moments and it was a refreshing homage to the better days of this show.
I bet we won’t see more than 0-1 additional classic curb episodes this season. They probably just wanted to bring back all the regulars for the finale. I suspect the rest of the episodes will be more garbage Atlanta political crap and the fat beaner.
The wordle shit was just pathetic and sad. Did they think when they wrote it that wordle was not some fad what would be forgotten by the time the episode aired? It’s amazing how lazy and dated the references are in this season
Highlights of this episode are, as always, Larry and suzie. The golf lesson plotline and the dog plotline were clearly the best — very classic curb, and allowing the two best characters to shine.
I had no idea who the deaf guy is that’s some actor. Or that British blonde actress girl who Larry wanted to fuck. I bet Larry doesn’t either.
The dog was so cute and I love dogs and usually I am rooting for Larry but I was on team dog on this one and it’s rare Larry annoys me.
Cheryl still looks good after 20+ years of this show. Wife thinks she has a horse face and doesn’t get why xo guys think she’s remotely attractive.
The cuck bull and assistant bull stuff reminded me of xo.
I bet this turns out to be the best episode of the season, sadly.

MY EP 4 REVIEW:
this ep was just okay and totally unmemorable by overall series standards. by recent years and particularly this season standards, it was well above average. it just wasn't particularly funny.
susie had a fair amount of screen time, but as a secondary character. she didn't really have any good opportunities to shine and be hilarious as with last episode.
urma is just not funny and she's a bad addition to the show. all the other supporting characters (cheryl, leon, richard lewis, funk, etc) help larry to be funny. she tries to be funny on her own and doesn't help larry being funny. she's just not funny and her time on camera is wasted.
the journalist / urologist / disgruntled / therapist plotline was just not that interesting.
the whole golf club disgruntled stuff was pretty good, as was the breakfast stuff (11am cutoff, his own eggs). that was closer to vintage curb.
this is a show i wouldn't ever watch if i wasn't all in at this point. i bet that's most people.

MY EP 5 REVIEW: the last two episodes were the best two of the season, and way the hell better than the first three. like the last, this ep would have been an average to slightly above average episode when this series was actually good. i'm very curious to see if this upward trend continues, or if we're going back to more shitty plotlines with the horrible black aunt, the shitlib georgia crap, and the obese beaner.
the writing on this ep was actually clever. it was a more of classic curb ep where a bunch of shit ties together at the end in a well thought out way. the writing allowed larry to be larry, and for him to shine with a brilliant master plot that he fucks up.
of course, i had to love the jewy shit with the reform "temple." wife was lol'ing at the two hot blonde shikses (sienna miller and the disney GF) this jew reception, and how one of them is converting and dropping dumb jewish words to try to sound jewish. this is classic curb inside baseball that the goyim watching this don't get. (btw, between those two blonde shikses and the cheryl appearance, my wife was maf and thinks i want a blonde shikse now.)
major negative of this ep was that suzie had like 15 seconds of speaking and jeff had none. they totally overused the freddie funkhauser character who is dull and unfunny, and should only perform a very limited role to enable the funny characters to be funny. they gave richard lewis a little too much screen time, as he's only funny in limited doses. they barely gave leon any lines, too.
the fag plotline was 180 -- naming the kid, whose semen it is, etc. that was classic curb. in 2024, i'm not sure if the viewer is supposed to sympathize with larry and realize that fags are disgusting degenerate child molesters who shouldnt be having kids... or if the viewer is supposed to cringe at larry and think he's an intolerant asshole. i'm obviously of the former camp, but i'm not sure what the intent is.
the goldfish plotline was dumb and a total bust. lots of leadup for one line when they're in the car about them being like trapped fish. they could have done something much better about chinks, and the plotline turned out to be a total waste of time.
irma actually plays a good role when she barely talks, as in this episode. they need to have her help advance the plot but not dominate the storyline.
overall, i'm happy with 2 decent eps the past 2 weeks, but i'm pessimistic that it'll keep up like this.

MY EP 6 REVIEW:
a second very, very good episode in a row. this was great bc they highlighted LD and suzie, the two best characters. the scenes with suzie and the dicks in her mouth were absolutely brilliant, and jeff sitting there laughing hard about there's a dick in her mouth and the balls in her hands was jewish comedy at its finest. even the scene where suzie makes jeff go pretend to beat up the guy who insulted her was amazing; reminded me of something my mom would do.
this episode had no irma, no fat beaner, no leon's shitty aunt, no reference to the georgia political shit. if they stick to their core characters, it's so much better.
the whole lori laughlin stuff was okay, but not great. it just was overdone and not that funny she looks incredibly plastic surgeried but looks great dor her age.
the peeing / gettysburg address stuff was boring and overdone, but i guess it was necessary to set up the final scene of fucking over ted danson.
the coat schtick and the return of the chinaman and the fish stuff was great.
the israeli running an ayce buffet was just weird. should have been a chinaman too. israelis dont run ayce buffets or even restaurants really. it was bizarrely out of character.
there's only 4 more episodes of this series, ever. very sad! i feel like they're going to have to circle back to the fat beaner and georgia crap. i bet weve peaked and its downhill from here.

To be fair,
"The scenes with suzie and the dicks in her mouth were absolutely brilliant to me, and jeff sitting there laughing hard about there's a dick in her mouth and the balls in her hands was Jewish comedy at its finest," raved the internet kike.
"Uh.... yes, I actually agree with that, very well said," murmured the ghost of Adolf Hitler.

My EP 7 REVIEW:
looks like we're back to shitty low effort writing. absurd and totally unrealistic fact patterns just to set up a neat ending where everything supposedly comes together.
we had two different plotlines that are totally fucking unrealistic: 1) some random guy from larry's golf club he barely knows wants larry to raise his dotter, and 2) larry isn't just going on a random date with a 20's/30's black chick, but he's fucking her on the reg and she likes it. each of these is beyond absurd, and it's just lazy that they come up with this retarded shit that nobody can take seriously. usually they put larry in situations that are realistic for his character, but each of these was totally out of character and made the entire episode unwatchable drivel.
the scary "chef" thing was beyond stupid. larry and the black chick run away from the restaurant because they're afraid of the check who will be insulted that they didnt like his pie. and no follow up on this. who is this chef and why is he scary? nobody is scared of a chef. this was just beyond stupid.
on the positive, there was some major yiddish in this episode. suzie dropping the "farbissina punim" line and larry commenting on someone's "tuchus." for jews, by jews.
as to the made up dream stuff, i feel like they did this exact same thing before in an earlier episode. or maybe it's from a different show/movie. it didn't feel original.
there wasn't enough suzie in this episode. she was great for the little screen time she had, but there wasn't enough.
freddie funkhauser is just a shitty character and he adds nothing to the show. he's not funny. it's weird that he's friends with larry and the geezer gang. any scenes with him are just stupid.
this entire season is embarrassing as to larry being totally out of touch with modern technology. there was the siri not understanding larry shit, then buttdialing, and then larry getting annoyed about group chats. this is like 10 year old tech, and larry probably is so out of touch that he thought he was being edgy with this shit. sad.
now that we're on a downward trend, i bet the final three episodes are going to be total garbage.
