The new electric-battery powered lawn mowers seem 180

It, like most of the others offered at Home Depot now, uses a re-chargable lithium battery. Seems 180 so far- was only 350 bucks yet it cranks with the push of a button (no cord-pulling), requires no gas or even oil, and is much quieter than the gas-powered ones.

if your angle here is convenience i don't think it's any contest -- even when properly maintained gas tools are going to have more problems when used by a homeowner.
gas tools are superior if you need power and long run times (e.g. professionals). electric are superior for almost every other household task. how long have when been using battery powered hand tools over plug-ins and air powered? |

i was a gasmo up until a couple years ago. yes, historically the electric shit was junk. but now battery tech has caught up. my electric mower and weedwacker do fine on a fairly large and landscaped property. |

...that's what I did with my dewalt battery leaf blower, except instead of two leaf blowers, I bought 5 backup batteries. I can blow leaves indefinitely now, because each battery has a charger and once I blow through a battery, it goes right back on its charger.
