Many people have benign cysts...they show up everywhere and are usually discovered during random scans for other shit. They just occur and cause no issues for most. Chill. Your doc gets paid to fuck with things that could even remotely be an issue and he sent you away.

If he was concerned he would take a fluid sample.

If you drink, stop.

well maybe ask the good Dr if you could get it lazered out or whatever. The thing with these 'wait and see' guys is they know people have weird growths in and on them for decades without a problem, so why cut you open for what is essentially a mole on your pancreas? On the other hand, if its bigger in 6 months, you are definitely getting surgery.

Until then, let this be a wake up call to live a better life, mind body and soul.

i'm trying to schedule an appointment with a top GI/pancreas doctor in my city for a second opinion. maybe he'll say to get it cut out? but you're right, maybe it is just a mole on my pancreas that i've had forever, but it was just not found until i ended up in the ER recently and got a CT scan.

health is fine otherwise. normal BMI, exercise 6-7 days a week for an hour, very healthy diet, etc.

age?

remind yourself that the doc said it looks completely benign when you get anxious. as the prayer goes, you need to accept what you can't change with serenity, and in this case you can't do much during your long wait other than staying/becoming healthy in all other ways.

if that doesn't work then you probably need anxiety meds and therapy.

hope this turns out to be nothing brother. you need to figure out how to stay positive and maybe distract yourself if you think about it too much.

37, which seems like an odd age for serious pancreatic issues.

i'm fucking terrible at accepting things i can't change. health is fine otherwise. used to be on SSRIs for anxiety, and they did nothing. maybe it's time to try them again.

It’s normal to have anxiety about your terminal illness, just accept death.

Less than 1% of pancreatic cysts become malignant. So you're very probably ok. However...

13mm means you must follow it in 6months and keep following several years. If it stays the same only then it's benign. If it grows it is a low grade tumor (not adenocarcinoma)
