Sqft is fine for 4 of us. We’ve done some renovations and they’re so much nicer than the old parts that they make me wish the whole house was new. And there’s just stuff that we can’t change without going down to the studs (eg, small bedrooms, low ceilings, small bathrooms) and I don’t want to be out of the house for 18 months of my kids’ childhoods to do a reno, so I just bitch online. Houses are generally single-story 1800-3000 sqft depending upon neighborhood. Can still have room between houses and a nice backyard if you’re thoughtful about layout. Lots of people have pools (ours was filled in before we moved in).
When people tear down they almost universally build 2-story gray boxes. 10 years ago they were all modern farmhouse style |
