schwab gets everything done. bill payment interface is archaic. otherwise it's fine.
anything special you need from your bank?

important points
- no bullshit fees (using non-bank ATMs, other nickel and dime type shit)
- good customer service (no draconian menus, no turds/hellosirs, just white americans)
- free wires

Both are good on fees (assuming you keep sufficient balance at Chase). LOL at expecting good customer service in 2026. Your goal should be to not require anything that can’t be obtained via the website. Should that fail, push 1 for some shit that’s on the site, press 2 for some shit that no one wants, press 3 to wait on hold for Rajiv who is incomprehensible and lacks authority to address your problem. Sorry I didn’t get that, here’s your balance information. Please complete this survey! We appreciate your business!
Contrary opinion- if you want checking/investments/CC all in one place with low fees, BofA offering is competitive. Chase has better marketing and branch placement in some cities but the actual online bank product is no better (and Chase credit card portfolio is a bunch of stuff that sounds like a good deal but fucks you, like stupid category shit and booking your travel through their portal).
Lastly none of the largest banks offer a good savings product because 90% of the business model is hoping you won’t notice interest rates. Savings you still need to link something online only with a decent yield, or buy money markets in a brokerage account.

The best value with the points are discounted business class seats, but those still come with a cost. Actual reward flights are a red herring for most people who are better off getting 2% cash back cards. Most people with Chase Sapphire are chasing after an elusive goal and don't realize the forgone opportunity costs of not going with a cash back card that doesn't charge annual premiums.
I'm sure autistic guys on the spectrum will still find a way to fly business for free from NYC to Sydney but most of us have lives.

Yeah I exaggerate - bank customer service during business hours for non-poor clients is the last bastion of customer service experiences that might work out decently. If you want to really suffer, call Verizon after hours.

n.b. we're in are country and local govt c/s has been pretty damn impressive. had mostly good experiences w nice white employees. when we moved, going to the DMV to get new plates and DLs was easy and smooth. going to the county office to get official birth certs for new babies was always a breeze. calling the govt about property taxes or trash pickup or whatever has been mostly good.
but anything on a national scale? rofl no

schwab refunds all atm fees. never been charged any other fees.
i've called in a couple times and it's been americans based in phoenix. they answer fast too. very little time wasted in a phone menu tree or AI trying to figure out what i need
i've had to wire large sums for real estate transactions and as far as i remember, no fees were charged

we did chase private + their wealth management for a few years, but were unimpressed. pulled all our money out and put it into a robo. best benefit was the discounted mortgage, got a 30yr for 2.25
their “personal bankers” are useless ttt frat types

your personal banker is a worthless salesbro who can't get shit done.
their wealth manager kept shilling some esg allocation which i was totally against; no surprise, saw on linkedin his daughter had some dei type hr job at a museum and he was all into that shit. he also kept pushing us to do various charities and other types of philanthropy spending that didn't have any sort of obvious tax advantage, etc.
i asked for a no fee chase saphire reserve and they were like, 'nope, can't do that'. mind you, i had close to 8 figures with them.
back when the usd was strong versus the euro we simply asked the banker + wealth dude to buy euros for us. they went on and on how they can't do that, just put it in a forex fund, etc.
if they can't make basic shit happen, or at least credibly advise how to diy, then i have no use for the (((fees)))
