The schools in the old big east were all so close together it seemed like all the students knew each other. Great times. but nothing lasts... |

Date: March 7th, 2026 2:24 PM Author: Umber sweet tailpipe famous landscape painting the utter raping of the big east was the biggest factor. half the interesting rivalries in cbb were there and they all got wiped out, and the teams got shitty once they lost the rivalries that made their programs meaningful (interestingly enough except uconn who got hosed the worst). and they were all schools for which basketball was the premier sport. now the top 25 is full of b1g and sec schools which can't be bothered to give a shit about their basketball programs.
would be like splitting up the sec football programs and putting each school in a different mid major conference. tremendous chunk of the tradition and intrigue of the sport just erased. |

However, no totally insane low seed upsets. One 12 seed and two 11 seeds (one of whom was TTTexas, not exactly an underdog) made it two second round. |
