How will the Energy Lockdowns of 2026 be ROLLED OUT?

What are the specifics.
Obviously they have great precedent in the 2020 lockdowns, but what will the exact restrictions be, and what will the progression look like?

Gas is $20 gallon => you are staying home or just enlist.
?
I don’t think that’s what will happen though

Think about the Covid lockdowns.
The first real world event for me was the Superintendent on the jobsite literally told everyone "go home." We left that day and never came back till months later.
Then you had the weird restaurant shit (not fucking sure at all why "RESTAURANTS" are such a huge part of our life that this was a change in how we live but it was), the masks in the grocery stores, the lines near tents in the hospital parking lot to get your jibjab, and all the rest that we all know about.
What will the EVENTS look like for these lockdowns?

Gas rationing. Scan your ID to pump. WFH if you can, carpool if you can.
But I don't imagine they'll stop public transportation. So it'll really only be a lockdown for people who live in small towns without pubtrans. But also a lot of businesses will be closed.

Historical fempoaster; iirc you're not a fan.
Yep we're pretty fucked if it goes down anything like this. And I haven't even started to think about the impacts on the power grid – I know that's mostly natural gas, which we're OK on, but we don't know how all these things will interact in the context of a global energy crisis. Will they limit the hours we can use electricity?
(TBH I've been stocking up on supplies for a potential blackout for a while now anyways.)

Tbh I have done alright in some energy ETFs and I keep a bunch of cash in some offshore plays that have been in the toilet for years (RIG is one of them.) But I also have a lot in cash and still in tech and the S&P. If they actually go down the money printing path, it stands to reason that the big will get bigger again. Just like in Covid.
But I am not sure because the market feels increasingly detached from reality and has for many years.
One of the issues with oil is that it can only stay so high for so long. People talking about "permanent $200 a barrel oil" are retarded IMO because prices that high destroy demand. We are already in demand destruction territory. More likely to see it spike for a short while and then come crashing back down to Earth because the prices themselves cause a recession. Same shit happened in 2005 - 2006. An energy spike in the mid-2000s was the actual trigger for the GFC. The kindling for all the mortgage securities to be lit on fire.
