Three weeks ago, I underwent a labiaplasty on only one side because it bothered me regularly while running (I'm an amateur marathon runner). I've been through the worst body horror imaginable since the procedure began. The surgeon simply cut along the length of the labia with scissors and sutured the wound back together. Obviously, I started bleeding profusely. He cauterized it extensively to stop the bleeding, which caused an electrical burn. Even with medication, the pain didn't stop until a couple of days ago, and as if that weren't enough, the cauterized area fell off, and now I literally have a hole in my labia. On top of that, he cut visible more than the other labia; they were supposed to be symmetrical in size. I'm heartbroken. The surgeon insists it will heal in six months, but it's not the first time I've had a serious skin burn. I know the tissue that fell off won't magically grow back. I don't know what to do because there isn't another surgeon nearby who can help me, and I'm not in a condition to fly anywhere
