One tell is that, right up front, they told u that there are five (5) other coronaviruses already endemic to us, and that everyone gets exposed to them.

These same people would have you believe the SARS epidemic was a big wake-up call that triggered all this investigation into the biology of coronaviruses that whoops was happening at this Wuhan laboratory and other places.

Well if coronaviruses are such a fucking mystery, how are we able to speak so authoritatively about the five (5) harmless, endemic coronaviruses? Are we sure it's only 5? Are sure it's not just one virus and four "variants?"

Alternatively, if they know so much about the background viruses, why were they going into Laotian bat caves looking for new viruses to study?

Finally, when speaking about coronaviruses generally, experts have occasionally hinted that coronaviruses readily share RNA with each other. They can just mix it all up whenever they meet up. Well if coronaviruses have that unique capability wouldn't we expect any deadly strain of coronavirus to begin immediately exchanging RNA with the five (5) background endemic coronaviruses?

lol@ asking anyone to reliably produce a photograph of a virus. Yes, it's been done in limited circumstances, or at least people have claimed to have done it. Beyond that, the diagrams u see in the textbook are all imaginary, like our pictures of dinosaurs. No one has ever taken an image of a virus penetrating a cell wall or injecting RNA into a cell. Viruses are super fucking small too. They were thought to be the smallest exosomes until prions were discovered.

It turns out we don't really know shit about RNA. Like at all. We have this mystery juice called "reverse transcriptase" that claims to translate the RNA into DNA, but if that's possible why isn't it already happening in nature? If RNA produces a viron that's perfectly suited to that environment, why not at least give it the option of producing clones of itself? Why must it always mutate?

It gets even weirder when you look into how these viruses are "sequenced." How do you construct the genetic sequence of something when all you have are tiny fragments of its dead proteins? You have to construct a probabilistic model of the "ancestral lineage" based on all these fragments of dead mutants.
