If you are over 120 IQ you owe it to yourself to at least humour it.
Forget about the science shit that we're too dumb to understand because we majored in political science. Just look into the fact that there are no actual pictures, whatsoever, of the earth beyond lower earth orbit, except for the one supposedly from 1971. You owe it to yourself to at least research that on your own if you don't believe it.

Don't ask science questions. They are honestly too hard and no one without a white lab coat really knows.
But it's probably the same reason you cannot see outer space. Too much distance, too many air particles.
No pics of earth from space... thats all I need. No pics of it rotating... nothing. All of those rockets going to Mars, and none of them have a camera on them.

This is everything. Blue Marble (1971) is the only pic. Hubble has nothing showing rotation.
The satellite feeds are all low earth orbit. Very very easy to fake. Like $400 billion of the federal budget is a black hole, it's very possible.

arent there pics of the earth from the moon?
SIS satellite footage just fake?
satellites fake?
you have to believe in a bunch of interconnected conspiracies to believe stupid shit like this
it's much easier to believe the earth is round

There is only, like, one pic from the moon. And no stars are seen (whether the moon's light drowns them out or not, if they were visible, it'd be easy for conspiracy bros to analyse whether their position is accurate, and hard to fake).
There are no pics taken, say, by hubble.
I'm not going to convince you in this thread anyway but the youtube videos address all of your points. I didn't even take Calc II, I majored in political science, so for all I know it's fine if the satellites just hover about the disc earth.

phases of the moon don't help.
the moon, sun, and every other observable space object doesn't help.
but yeah, you're probably right.

It's very very hard to get a direct flight from Chile to Australia. The flat earthers keep trying and failing to book one.
This leads to another interesting point - GPS doesn't work under the southern Pacific/Atlantic. For god knows what reason, but if there were satellites up there, it should work just as well as on land. i.e. flighttracker does not exist, period, when flying from Santiago to Johannesberg or Sydney.
The routes to Oz are also really weird but make sense on a flat earth map. Aussie flight to L.A. had a pregnant woman go into labor, so they stopped in Alaska.

Back away from this circular bullshit logic. Back away.
Remember:
No pics of earth in 40 years
No pics of earth from Space showing Stars in the background
No pic/video of earth rotating.
Turn hubble around ffs

"To Maintain Legitimacy: During the Cold War we faked the moon landing. Shortly after they realized the reason they could not reach the moon was due to the flatness of the Earth. They were stuck in a lie, and had to continue it or lose legitimacy of our governments. Even today we would still hold onto this lie due to role Science plays in our ruling government.
To hide the truth of the Bible.
To Gain Power and Money: By siphoning off the space budgets and denying the world the resources of the Antarctic they gain a considerable amount of power and wealth."

What makes more sense:
1) The earth doesn't rotate, as the Michelson-Morley experiment strongly suggests
2) Gravitational mass/time dilation and length contraction
the latter only exists to explain the former's results

It's pointless to come at this in terms of "disproving" flat earth theory. The point is that round earth is a vastly better theory. It's much more elegant (think Occam's Razor) and predictive.
Flat Earth people are clever at explaining what we've observed, but they can't predict any new observable phenomena that round earth theory doesn't

Conspiracy theory masterman here. I hate missing these threads and this is one of my favorite theories. As always, I'll present the evidence in order of importance.
1. Flight paths. Tons of youtube videos out there questioning why a flight from Johannesburg to Sydney would take a pit stop in New Delhi. Why does it take 12 hours to fly to the South Pole from Chile? (https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/speaking-of-science/wp/2016/06/16/a-rare-risky-mission-is-underway-to-rescue-sick-scientists-from-the-south-pole/ -- GREAT article for truthmos btw)
2. Curvature calculations. If your six feet tall and standing on the beach in Union City, NJ, you should only be able to see parts of the Manhattan skyline taller than 491 ft. Of course, this is not the case and you can even see the Empire State Building in its entirety. Tons of other examples like this
2a. Kansas. They just did a surveying and its literally flatter than a pancake. If you were to fly over Kansas you should see the earth curve almost 10 degrees, but of course, this is not the case.
3. Apollo Mission. This is a Pandoras Box in of itself, but one of the key points (besides distance calculations) is why the shuttles didn't take off parallel to the surface. That would have been much more efficient than fighting earths gravity straight up.
4. Only two people have every circumnavigated the South Pole and they both clocked its circumference at 40-50,0000 miles, way more than the 12,000 miles we're told.
5. Observational evidence. See https://youtu.be/IYYj_h_i5wo?t=32m20s and http://imgur.com/fFRtZdA (OC by me)
Essentially, Flat Earthers believe the heliocentric theory was a conspiracy to undermine the church. They believe the earth is a disc and our assumptions about how quickly light bends over distance are way off and lead us to mistakenly view discs and surfaces as spheres. There's a lot of debate in the community over whether other planets are discs and if the earth rotates around the sun or vice versa. They frequently point out how flimsy the scientific evidence is for other commonly held geological ideas. For instance, there's more evidence Jesus was real and died in 33AD than there is suggesting the center of our planet is a molten ball of metal. The former has been corroborated by thousands of eye-witnesses while the latter is a perverse extrapolation of cherry-picked seismic records and density calculations.
Overall I give this theory a 4/5 because of its magnitude and the amount of scientific and observational evidence. This doesn't mean I believe it, but I'll defend it and am willing to take ?s for a few minutes
