"Very nice post for what it is, Arctotherium. It has a lot of resonance to the type of political and culture analysis I used to do; heavily fact sourced, pointing out the inconsistencies of the prevailing narratives, crafting a new one based upon the assemblage of the facts. The internet today is deeply censorious, and worse, its algorithmic and the public has become accustomed to it, and this is terrible for extremely important freedom of speech.
What I would point out, though, is if you keep drilling it will lead to higher level questions: what is it about mankind that accepts censorship or control like this? Does it serve a social function (even if the social function has deleterious consequences)? How does this freedom-to-control shift relate to other technologies, both past ones and new ones such as LLMs (hint: its the same process, let people use it as the elites study it, then clamp down very hard)? What does this say about not just our society, but human nature in general, and perhaps how this reality itself is structured?
Because ultimately, it seems like you are operating from a redemptive worldview: expose the facts, tell the people the truth, and good things will come from it. But I have a non-redemptive worldview after all this time: you can tell everyone the facts, the correct narrative, and it will be largely met with a collective shrug unless its from a (controlled) major influencer telling you that everything will be okay if you just have hope."

Article seems dated.
It should really focus on Elon Musk taking over Twitter and keeping free speech alive. Now all of the following is true -
Trump is the president
Transgender sports are no longer a thing
The border is closed
Shane Gillis sold out the Eagles stadium and Louis CK has a Netflix special
BLM is only mentioned as a punch line
The internet is a much more balanced place than it was 5 years ago and it isn't even close
