the funniest part is this “common” “misunderstanding” is even more offensive. if you met someone with some weird physical or mental deformity, you might find yourself at some point saying something along the lines of “oh, i hadn’t even noticed.” that may or may not even be true, but the point is you are entitled to say it because *of course* the misformed person who is inevitably hauling around years of insecurity would like to be confused for someone who is objectively superior in that particular respect. and you, for your part, cling to it as a “compliment” lol.
