No history of greatness in a major revenue sport (save the Nolan Richardson era in basketball which was 30 years ago). No preftige which at least Vanderbilt brings.
I guess they just got lucky that a spot opened at the right time. |

This statement is completely ludicrous to anyone who has heard holtz speak for more than 120 seconds, but it does remind me that at one point he coached arkansas. |

SEC needed two teams for a conference title game. Texas and A&M couldn’t politically leave the other Texas schools behind. Miami and FSU were more interested in the Big East and ACC.
