Seems to be my impression as well.

chatgpt has turned into a stinking piece of shit, claude is the best now (for the way i use it) but it has rate limited to like one message every six hours for free users

chatgpt sucks if you just use the web interface.

Codex is genuinely impressive, but the jump from gpt-5.3-codex to gpt-5.4 wasn't as substantial as the jump from gpt-o3-codex to gpt-5.3-codex. The CLI tool is really fucking good. I also pay $200/mo for it.

The 5.4 bump was small but the Opus 4.5 to 4.6 increase felt fairly substantial. Same with Gemini 3 to 3.1. I think it’s too soon to say model progress is stalling especially with the Mythos leaks

the post he's replying to doesn't say what he says it does

if AI can basically be a de facto singularity that constantly trains and improves on itself then it can write All Software and with that it can do All Business imho.

It already basically does that. You could just build an entire process/Form around its strengths and weaknesses imho. It can’t untangle the mess that Nerds have created but it can make its own shit nbd

The more you use AI, the dumber you get. People won't be able to correct AI mistakes after they use it for a while because they won't be able to spot them. Same with reactive driving and shitty response time by humans who have been in self driving cars for too long.

I use it every day at work

Also I use it pretty much exclusively when I code at this point. It can get it pretty much 90% right and done over 99% of the time on very big and complex projects. I mostly just review what it did and check for bugs.

What would have taken a week takes like 30 mins now

it's pretty much like syntax highlighting for me now. purists will say that you don't need anything besides a shell and some stdout redirection operators, but I stand by syntax highlighting. LLMs are just our segment of the exponential curve's equivalent of syntax highlighting.
