I laughed at the “denying your 8 year-old nephew a sip of her water bottle” poast because I remember refusing my vodka gf a sip from my water thermos walking somewhere one early morning. she replied, “Does it have vodka in it?” I sheepishly replied yes & handed it to her.

i was married to a vodka gf. she started out being just as much of a boozer as i was. but then i think she started getting very worried about my boozing. seltzer + booze is my go to, and if it's clear liquor it can be like a landmine. sometimes she would take a sip out of my drink thinking it was seltzer and it would turn out to be 50% tequila.

my increased boozing at the time was directly related to the failing marriage though. since then i've been much more responsible. my vodka gf is 7 years my junior. when i was her age we would have been a vodka couple for sure.

I had a more recent gf who drank every night & would get wild, especially on weekends, but she started to have a problem with my drinking. she would buy types of alcohol she knew I didn’t like & pour herself some after work without offering me any, which was a shitty & selfish thing to do.

I’ve quit drinking, but it’s insane thinking about how much booze was part of my life.
