Date: July 3rd, 2025 9:18 AM Author: concupiscible twinkling uncleanness it's looking like if he wins he's going to make a few boondoggle type adjustments that nycers can afford, some will stay and be lauded (free public transit is a no-brainer), some will go and be cursed in the record (state grocers 🙄 free childcare could go either way, but implementation is likely to be so poor as to put the thought out of peoples' minds for a while), but on the whole the city will stagnate some (perhaps to a lesser degree than beame/koch era nyc) while already-flighty capital will take flight to the sun belt i don't think it's apocalyptic and in some ways it's going to be a boon for the working poor that nyc rests its entire fantasyland playground ecronomy on but it probably won't be the era of dynamic growth that the city paradoxically both needs and is too sclerotic to entertain i also don't really think a lot of the dsa types know what they're doing and depending on how it plays out it may put a damper on the future of that wing of the party for some time |
