You can't just say "I'm going to pay 80k for this used Honda Civic (choose a non-depreciable asset for better comparison) and it will keep going up in value because of inflation." 80k is too expensive even considering inflation, so there's a huge risk people will wake up and say "this car isn't worth close to 80k" and the price will plummet.
A lot of historical stock data says that the stock market is kind of like an 80k Honda Civic now. |
