Get Sheppard’s pie and do a Sunday roast somewhere. It’s easy to find good pubs - just stay away from ones near tourist attractions. SoHo for a good great spoon.

Fish and chips from a good, family owned fish place are great. But most fish and chips you'll find are just ok and no better than what you'll get in the US.

In addition to those sites in London, take a couple day trips outside of London if you have time. Oxford is less than an hour away. Canterbury is 90 minutes.

. You may not understand the game, but (1) you should, because it's a great game, and (2) even if you don't, the atmosphere will be awesome and completely authentic. Even Orwell wrote about the village cricket green being the heart of real England.
