I sincerely think they were all labors of love - and ironically the most criticized parts from 3 IIRC, Sofia Coppola and Andy Garcia having tons of screen time together and separately, who the Eff can complain about that? (Two gorgeous individuals inside and out)

I don’t know if this helps or not (in terms of seeing if we have comparable tastes to inform your decision to give the third a chance, if you haven’t seen it), but:

I also love the Mighty Ducks trilogy (obviously lmao given my XO ID, and still great watches to this day), the Three Colors trilogy, Casino Tycoon 1 and 2 (an honorary trilogy in my eyes, gorgeous golden age of Hong Kong cinema), original Star Wars and Star Wars prequels, Lord of the Rings of course, the 3 Narnia movies work great as a trilogy, and the Ocean’s Trilogy IMO.
