IQ Tests Are Such Massive Flame

We asked the teachers how he did (because he usually scores 98-99% in testing) - and they said he scored 119 - so he was borderline for being retested. The teacher asked if we wanted to proceed anyway. We explained that he didn't really prepare for the test and the teachers are like "it's not something you can study for!"
We proceed with the testing and we get him some practice tests online. I do maybe 20 minutes of work with him 3 times (because there's only like 40 practice problems available) - and I explain to him the "correct" patterns the test is looking for on the couple that he gets wrong.
We get his results back this time and his IQ now is allegedly 145. He apparently jumped from above average to "near genius" in an hour of prep work.
Am I wrong, or is it just truly stupid people who think you can tell if someone is a genius or not based on if they can recognize these 4 types of arbitrary patterns?
And then you have all these losers on Reddit complaining that they have a 135 IQ and only make $60,000 - just irate at the world that their ability to realize the pattern is "reversing AND turning left" hasn't translated to real world application. |

If you’re smart but your intuition sucks and you get a little coaching you can increase your score by a lot imo. But when dumbs take tests like the SAT the usually get the Same Score over and over again no matter what ime. it might seem like i'm being pedantic but i'm not. that test is not designed with the same goal as an "IQ test" |

but who knows what they are doing now, in the age of DEI. |

the stuff that kids take these days is specifically designed to avoid actually measuring objective intelligence. everything about the education system is now designed to avoid objectively measuring children's intelligence. even "entry to gifted programs." it's libs' #1 mission in childhood education, which they completely control |

If you can learn how to answer questions the first time someone explains them to you, that counts as smart. We have people who can’t read or do basic math after being taught both every day for years. Every day I interact with highly paid execs whose response to a two-option multiple choice question is to misunderstand both choices, invent a third option that is objectively worse than either option presented, and suggest that we need another meeting including some additional retarded assholes and maybe put the options on a slide as bullet points with a picture.
However you could say that multiple choice IQ tests select for basically smart + autism and maybe we should be measuring performance at tasks that involve more creativity and complex outcomes rather than doing something that feels scientific but does not correspond to most real world tasks (which again, mostly consist of persuading dumbs to do what you want, see above). I’ve known people who are more capable than me at most tasks but less accurate at MC-testing and it’s fairly stupid to say that I have a higher IQ when what really you mean I am more tolerant than a normal smart person of hours of testing and thinking according to rigid rules provided in advance and catching trivial mistakes unrelated to any deeper understanding or competence. |
