In the sealed custody agreement there was a lot of weird sex stuff about the husband. Apparently he had had a fantasy about fucking Jeri in public and wanted to get into whips and chains and some dom/sub stuff. Although I don't think he ever actually did this, it just came out somehow in court during the custody battle (seems like she was probably just trying to pill the court against her ex). Even though I don't think any of it was ever actually done, the scandal was severe enough that it caused Mr. Ryan to drop out of the race. The replacement candidate sucked and Obama won. His camp disavowed the paper publishing the lurid personal details of his opponent but he benefited from it anyway lol. Ruthless Chicago machine politics so corrupt.

Ed Kramer was huge in the 1990s in the fantasy world; he edited a lot of anthologies and founded Dragoncon in Atlanta and he was a total chomo and a lot of sf writers went to bat for him (including, to my dismay, harlan ellison)

on an amusing side note, he co-edited a Sandman anthology with Neil Gaiman, which makes it the only book I can think of off the top of my head where both names on the cover turned out to be gross sex pests (although Kramer's crimes went far beyond 'sex pest')
