I fear Trump may not be entirely aware of how Russian influences, indirect but possibly direct, amongst some of his staff are undermining the Western led world order and its pre-eminence amongst the Euro-American coalition of powers atm. It's also undermining our position with China and the moral authority placed in the US position in Taiwan. The DoD needs to be focusing on east Asia and the Taiwanese straits and showing force and a willingness to defend if the PRC tries to make a move on Taiwan. Israel is also creating problems within NATO by antagonizing Turkey, which has been attempting to grow its influence in the region as a result of perceived Western meddling with the Sunni religious and cultural substrate in the regions bordering it. As an aside I also wish Turkey was not a NATO member but, okay, here we are all these years later anyway This is a major miscarriage of justice at this point; Israel has accomplished a great deal of success in the region, albeit in a way that seems to me as myopic. |
