My cover band is really taking off.

Date: March 18th, 2026 1:50 PM Author: Ocher swashbuckling voyeur depends on the gig tbh. We are taking even low paying gigs right now just to get experience and exposure. It's split evenly between the members.
E.g. for NYE the band got paid a total of $1,100, which was a bargain. Last Friday, we got paid $700. The hope is to eventually play weddings, private parties, corporate events and "A rooms" all of which pay substantially more. |

It's nice to get paid to do it, but the deal I have with my wife is that I give her 100% of what i get paid. In exchange, I go rehearse once per week and can play any gig no questions asked while she picks up the slack at home.
Getting paid for me is more about dignity or the feeling that I am actually an entertainer and they aren't just tolerating me performing on stage. |
