Democrats registered more voters in that period—about 51,000—while Republicans registered 13,000. At least 64,000 of the registrants are unaffiliated voters.
But the surge of new voters, especially young people and people of color, could give Harris an edge in Georgia, which Biden won narrowly in 2020.
Most new registrants are young; some 56 percent are 34 or under, with 18-year-olds accounting for about 20 percent. More than half (about 53 percent) are voters of color.

Assumes everyone who voted for Biden in 2020 will vote for Harris in 2024. That's a bad assumption.

That's my point. Making gains means people who voted for Biden realizing that Democrats suck and all their promises turned out to be BS and this time voting Trump or staying home.

LMAO. People forget that the context of elections matter. '08 saw 2 terms of GWB who led us into 2 stupid wars that cost us trillions and thousands of lives for zero gain. McCain was running against Obama with McCain being a hardened neocon who talked about wanting to get into a war with Iran. Of course he lost.

I think this is what's being lost in this bullshit media narrative that Kamala is running away with the election.

True, but Georgia also has a very rapid rate of demographic change, and went majority minority in 2023 after being 51.7% white in 2020. The 400+k deaths in Georgia likely represents at least a 200k vote loss for Trump, and the demos that grew in the last four years probably give the Dems a similar sized boost. So Trump really has to outperform 2020 by about 400k votes in terms of Dems losing turnout and Biden voters switching to Trump, assuming the total electorate is roughly the same size at ~5M voters. All other criteria eg urban/rural, college grad/non college, age of electorate are all demographic headwinds for Trump. And he has given moderate GOP voters a shitton of reasons to not vote for him since Election Day 2020. I don’t think it’s in the bag for Kamala at all, but it’s clearly very close and there are lots of good indications that Kamala has more momentum right now.
