K-dramas started getting popular around the same time; execs were probably scrambling to fill the content-trough with enough cheap foreign slop to keep subscribers from canceling during a slow year) and Amazoid Prime atm

Have also seen indie theaters around here showing these sorts of Bollywood items, usually weekend matinee or double-feature type deals
